Mohanlal as Devdutt Narasimhan

Mohanlal is playing the role of a brilliant criminal lawyer in the upcoming Malayalam movie "Janakan". Suresh Gopi and Jyothirmayi plays the lead role in the movie and Mohanlal appears in 20 minutes climax scene. The movie is directed by N R Sanjeev, and has its script by the much acclaimed S N Swamy.

Mohanlal will be honoured with Doctorate Degree

Super Star Mohanlal and Oscard award winning sound engineer Rasul Pookkutty will be awarded the honorary Doctorate Degrees by the Kalady Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.


The doctorate degrees are in recognition of their services in their respective fields.

Mohanlal bagged "Chithira Thirunal award"

Mohnalal has been selected for the year's "Sree Chithira Thirunal" award. The award carries a citation and one lakh rupees cash.

This award is in honor of individuals who have made exceptional contributions in art, science, literature, medicine, education and cinema.The award was first announced in the year 2006.

Unnaipol Oruvan - Movie Review

"Unnaipol Oruvan" is undoubtedly one of the most awaited movie of this season and proves to be a true reflection of a common man’s anger against Terrorism.

Kamal Haasan plays the protagonist against the terrorism. The hero’s objective gets revealed only in the second half until then the audience mind rolls with inquisitiveness what and why is the hero plotting against the police and the public. Mohanlal plays the role of a commissioner. The audience gets engrossed with this character and empathize the predicament a commissioner goes through from the hands of Power, Politics and Public.

The credit goes to the Debutant Director Chakri Toleti. He deserves a pat on his shoulder for setting the story straight forward and not moving out of the template.

The political satire over the Telephone with Chief Minister does not fail to impress and there are many gripping moments in the film, especially when the Task Force officer (played by Ganesh Venkatram) plots the operating site of the Hero.

The film shot completely in RED One format shows Cinematographer Manoj Soni's brilliance and the tone of the film reflects the proceedings aptly.

The Music is by Shruthi Haasan, the tiger’s cub got to be tiger and yes she leaps 16 feet. The back ground score is commendable.

"Angel John" - Movie Preview

Maradona is the only son of Joseph, a bank employee. Though he was reared with maximum care, facilities and fortunes, Maradona turned out to become a kind of spoilt brat who was never able to fulfill his parents ambitions. He couldn't even pass his B Com exam even after many sessions. He had a friend in sofiya, but somehow he was falling into newer problems whenever he was attempting for something different.

It was at this confusing juncture that Maradona decides to end his life. He plans to commit suicide by jumping into a dangerous sea. But the fate has something different destined for him. From the very instant he appeared on the shore, he was being watched by someone who found something different in the young man’s manoeuvres and behavior. And when Maradonna tried to push himself to the sea from a nearby lighthouse, this stranger came up and extended his hand to sinking Maradona, thus saving his life. Who is this stranger? What was his intentions?  What was it that made him to rescue Maradona and revive his attitudes and made him a winner? ‘Angel John’ the new Mohanlal starer is all about this guardian angel and his different relationship with the young Maradana. An interesting hilarious plot written by Manaf is put to screen language by the young director Jayasuriya who debuted with the hit ‘The Speed Track’.

According to the director, the movie is a mix of fantasy and reality, more about the effects some total strangers make in our lives. While Mohanlal appears as the title character, Tamil actor Santhanu, son of Poornima and Bhagiyaraj is debuting into Mollywood playing Maradona. It is interesting to note that Mohanlal and Poonima debuted into films together in the eighties with the movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookal’ where Lal's character was Villainish, trying to seize Poornima's character from her lover. But here in this movie, Lal comes up as a protector to her son Santhanu.

Also in the cast of ‘Angel John’ are Nithya, Mamtha, Lalu Alex, Vijayaraghavan, Innocent, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Jagathy, Jayasoma, Bineeshkodiyery, Bheeman Reghu, Ambika, Baiju and Geetha. Produced by K K Narayana Das in the banner of Creative team, the movie is cinematographed by Ajayan Vincent. The year's national award winner Ouseppachan will tune the four songs of the movie written by Subhash and Saseendra Varma. The movie will be brought to theatres by Max lab entertainments.

Mohanlal Dubs for Pazhassi Raja

Mohanlal has agreed to lend his voice for introducing the historic title character in the biggest "Mammooty - M T Vasudevan Nair" project "Pazhassi Raja". The great actor offered his maximum cooperation to the project. His voice will tell the viewers about the feat of Pazhassi. 

The movie is planning fora world wide release on October 2nd. "Pazhassi Raja" will be the first Malayalam movie which will release simultaneously in five languages with around 600 prints. Lets wait fot the historical moment and film. 

Unnaipol Oruvan - Ready to Hit on 18th

Kamal Hassan -  Mohanlal team's Unnaipol Oruvan is all set ready to hit theaters on 18th of this month. As 18th is the Eid festive week, the makers are expecting a fantastic opening around India. In Kerala the movie is planning to get relased in more than 50 centers. In Tamil Nadu the best distributors acquired the rights of the movie we can expect a fantastic opening. Angel John - Set for Ramzan Release

Mohanlal's Malayalam movie "Angel John" is all set to release on Ramzan. The movie is directed by Jayasuriya. The movie also casts Santhanu Bhagyaraj, son of Bhagyaraj and Poornima, and Nithya Menon(Akasha Gopuram Fame).

"Janakan" - Mohanlal - Suresh Gopi Movie

The Mohanlal - Suresh Gopi team's new movie is titled as "Janakan". The movie is directed by debutant director N R Sanjeev and scripted by S N Swamy. The movie is on its sets at Trivandrum and Mohanlal will join the team on 10th of this month.

“Mahendrajaalam” – Mohanlal’s New Project

The “Pakal Nakshatrangal” team is again coming together with their new project “Mahendrajaalam” will feature Mohanlal in lead. But this time the team is planning for a commercial film instead of art.  This film is planned to launch on next year. 

Rajeev Nath will direct the movie and the script work will be done by Anoop Menon. This will be the first commercial movie from Rajeevnath. The film will also cast Reema Kallingal(“Ritu” fame), Raj Tushy.

"Unnaipol Oruvan" - Audio Launch will be on Sept 6th

The audio launch of Kamal Hassan and Mohanlal movie "Unnaipol Oruvan" will be on 6th September at Sathyam Cinemas. 

Producer AVM Saravanan will release the audio CD and it will be received by director K.Balachandar. Kamal Hassan's daughter Shruthi Haasan has scored the music for the film and also choreographed for a promotional song along with her sister Akshara. 

Unnaipol Oruvan is the ramke of Super hit Hindi movie "A Wednesday". The mvoie is produced by Kamal Hassan in association with UTV.
