The Idea - Mathrubhumi - Amrutha TV Awards 2008 announced yesterday and the award for best actor goes to Mohanlal for his performances in ‘Akashagopuram’, ‘Kurukshethra’ and ‘Pakalnakshathrangal’ and award for best actress goes to Priyamani. Mammooty got the "excellence in acting" award. Srinivasan will recieve the ‘Abhinaya prathibha’ award. Renjith got the best director award for his film "Thirakkatha". Siddique as best anti hero, Prithviraj - Youth icon, Jayasoorya and Roma best character actor and actress awards. Jayaram and Gopika have been selected as the most popular actor and actress respectively for the film "Verythe oru bharya".
The awards are decided by public voting, jury opinion and nominations.
