Amrita - FEFKA Film Awards Announced

The Amrita - FEFKA Film awards were decided by a 7 member jury panel members from various branches of the media and with veteran director K.S Sethumadhavan. Actor Mohanlal won the 'Abinay Keerthi Award'. Mammooty and Kavya Madhavan declared as the best actor and actress respectively for their performance in 'Prachiyettan' and 'Gaddama'

The major Award winners are:

1] Best Film: T.D Dasan Std 6B

2] Best Actor: Mammootty (Prachiyettan , Best Actor)

3] Best Actress: Kavya Madhavan ( Gaddama)

4] Best Director: Mohan Raghavan (T.D Dasan Std 6B)

5] Abinay Keerthi Award: Mohanlal

6] Special Jury Award:  Salim Kumar ( Adaminte Makan Abu)

7] Lifetime Achievement Award: Yesudas

8] Yuva Keerthi Award : Kunchako Boban.

9] Most Popular Actor: Dileep.

Kandahar - Big B & Mohanlal with Major Ravi

Finally things are going on the right track with Mohanlal and Major Ravi. Big B agreed to do a role in Major Ravi and Mohanlal's next venture titled "Kandahar". The film tells the story of a commando operation.

The story of the film is based on the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 in 1999 which was on its way from Kathmandu to New Delhi. The passengers on the plane had to spend nearly a week on the tarmac of the Kandahar airport in Afghanistan.

Mohanlal and Major Ravi contacted Big B to tell the story line recently. After hearing the script Bachan agreed to do the role. He will be doing the role of the father of a passenger in the hijacked plane. The character will be a remarkable in the film and handling emotional scenes with Mohanlal. 

Kandahar is likely to be produced by Mohanlal’s right hand man Antony Perumbavoor under his Aashirwad Cinemas banner. Meanwhile Ravi is also trying to rope in young action heroes from Tamil and Hindi to make the project viable with Hindi and Tamil dubbed versions.
