Big Releases on this week

Today is a big day in Mollywood. A day when both the biggest stars of the industry is arriving with their first presentations of the year.Both Mohanlal's ‘College Kumaran’ and Mamootty's ‘Roudram’ will open today with plenty of fireworks. The big fan groups of the stars were on celebration from yesterday itself, raising big cutouts of the stars and hoardings of the films.Mamootty's ‘Roudram’ produced and distributed by Marikkar Films made an opening at 49 centres while Mohanlal's ‘College Kumaran' competes in the magic number of 50.Produced and distributed by two of the biggest banners in Malayalam, Marikkar Films and Emil and Eric, the safer running of both the films will assure another good year of the industry, which haven't received a hit yet, in its opening month.

‘Karthika Thirunaal Karthikeyan' Start on March

Superstar Mohanlal's new film with T S Suresh Babu ‘Karthika Thirunaal Karthikeyan' will start rolling this March.The movie which is planning to start on March 5 will feature Lal in the title role 'Karthikeyan' who has possessed many extraordinary powers that the normal man fantasies to have. The movie produced in the banner of "Valiyaveettil International" will have a big star cast, as usual with Suresh Babu Films.The makers are planning to complete the film in two schedules. In fact the director is making a film after a gap of almost five years.Suresh Babu is famous for his big hits with Mammootty like 'Kottayam Kunjachan' and 'Kizhakkan Pathrose'.

'College Kumaran' - Release postponed on February

Mohanlal's first release of the year 'College Kumaran' will get released one week after the earlier schedules. The film whose post production is on full swing was expected to make a release on the Republic Day. Now the movie will now make a release, only on the first of February. Mammootty's 'Roudram' will be the first to reach the theaters among the new releases, charted for this month. 'Roudram' which feature the star again a police officer role will now make a release on 24th of January. On the immediate next day Blessy’s 'Calcutta News' which was in production for a long time, will grace the theaters.

The year opened with two releases in Molly wood, with Jayaraj's' 'Of The People' and east coast Vijayan's 'Novel'. Both these films carried bad word of mouth from its initial viewers and the films are struggling to get a move. But the Christmas releases like 'Katha Parayumpol', 'Kangaroo' and 'Romeo' are still making good revenues from the major centers.
